“Your talent determines what you can do. Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do. Your attitude determines how well you do it.” - Lou Holtz
Amitabh Bachhan turned 69 today. He earned special place in the hearts of millions of movie buffs in India and abroad. He started his journey into Bollywood after leaving a job in British Shipping Agency in Kolkata because of his passion for films. He himself never expected that he would reach pinnacle of success in film industry.
He made debut in Saat Hindustani and gradually created a place for himself. Zanjeer was the turning point that catapulted him into stardom followed by several films such as Deewar and Amar Akbar Anthony so on. He was known as ‘angry young man’ in his initial period of film career and gradually became humble personality with the passage of time.
He had his own ups and downs in his life like any other person. Although he was successful in film industry by acquiring the title as the Sehanshah of Bollywood he failed in both business and politics. Commenting about politics, “I never knew politics. I was uncomfortable doing it. It’s better to accept that can’t do it.” As an actor he never failed. Ram Gopal Verma, the ace director wrote in one of his recent articles that it was other people in film-making who were responsible for his flops and added that as an actor Amitabh always delivered his best and he was never a flop.
Even at this age he maintains high energy levels, spends his time for blogging, tweeting, taking care of acting and television program Kaun Banega Karodpathi (KBC). He is a very good time manager who balances personal, professional and social life. He leads a complete life without any regrets.
Amitabh has the attitude of gratitude who accepts failures with humility, learn lessons and moves forward without any emotional baggage. He is a living legend who stands for motivation and continues to inspire common man to dream big and achieve big. I greet him on the eve of his 69th birthday.
