“Set Your Goals for 2013” - Professor M.S.Rao

"A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline." - Harvey Mackay

Dear friend,

Happy Christmas and New Year – 2013!

As we are entering into a new year we must set our goals in such a way that we will do the things in a different manner to accomplish and achieve the impossible. When we do routine things routinely we get routine results. In contrast, when we do things differently we will achieve unique outcomes. Hence, from this year onwards let us change the way we think, do and act to make the future better.

If you want to become a successful professional in your area of interest you must invest 1,000 hours regularly. It helps you establish and build your professional brand. Malcolm Gladwell, the Author of Outliers rightly said, “People who thrive put in at least 1000 hours of sustained, consistent training to reach their potential.” Hence, choose your passionate area and then invest your precious time, energy and resources into it for 1,000 hours and I am sure you will be an expert in your domain and an authority in it.  People look to you for your guidance and advice and you grow as a leader.

Remember that if you invest for 10,000 hours in your passionate area (3 years approximately) consistently, you become a regional celebrity. If you invest 20,000 hours (6 years approximately) you become a national celebrity. If you invest for 30,000 hours (9 years approximately) consistently you become an international celebrity.

Set SMART goals where SMART is the acronym for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound. Ensure that you ink your goals and read daily twice after you get up from bed and before you go to bed. Divide your goals into short-term and long-term goals and align them without any contradiction.  Keep moving forward by taking feedback regularly. One day you will find yourself on the top of the world where everyone looks to you for your guidance and you enjoy great respect.

All the best!

“Importance of Online Management Education” - Professor M.S.Rao

"Make education a continuing, never-ending process." - Nido Qubein

You get several things online such as movie tickets, books, and clothes etc. And people enjoy online shopping immensely in the present world. You also get education online thanks to the revolutionary changes in technology.  With the rapid growth in technology there are ample of opportunities for working people to acquire skills, abilities and knowledge apart from qualifications through online education.  That is the reason there is a growing interest towards online management educational internationally.  The working executives who have appetite for continuous learning want to pursue such courses. Also those who don’t have deep pockets but have great heart to learn intend to pursue such courses.  This concept has both merits and demerits.  When you look at the demerits the learners don’t enjoy classroom ambience and there is no physical interaction with the educators. But if they have passion, time, and an internet connection at home they can pursue such courses and acquire good education through online.

There are a number of reasons for increased interest in online management education presently. Basically it is the flexible timing, location and easy accessibility that are responsible for growing interest to online management education. Most of the learners want to acquire knowledge, abilities and skills from expert educators.  Some learners want to undertake leadership roles and responsibilities, and equipping with this type of education helps them stand out. Some learners want to associate with prestigious global institutions and some pursue such courses to build their brands and for personal satisfaction.

Acquiring qualifications can help learners grow professionally as they can show to their authorities for their promotions. Acquiring additional knowledge helps them become competent and confident to execute certain tasks at ease. It seems online education is going to dominate the world and people must learn to acquaint with this mode of learning to reap benefits immensely.

"Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength of the nation." -- John F. Kennedy
