“Do You Respect Knowledge or Qualifications?” - Professor M.S.Rao

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” - Benjamin Franklin

Respect knowledge, not qualifications. It sounds strange right!  Yes it is.  There are people who have a huge knowledge excelled and there are people with good number of qualifications but failed miserably as they lacked the knowledge to apply their knowledge appropriately.  The people who have knowledge always stayed ahead of others than the people who have mere paper qualifications.  When you look at several leaders and CEOs globally they are successful not because they have qualifications but because they acquired knowledge and applied in their real lives and succeeded.  Hence, knowledge is superior to so-called paper qualifications.  However, we need to have qualifications to show on records that we are capable of handling certain roles and responsibilities, and to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.  For instance, there are academicians with good industry track record but they don’t have PhD as a qualification.  As a result, they are not promoted to the post of principal and professor as AICTE made it mandatory to have a PhD qualification for such positions in India.  These passionate academicians have great knowledge but fail to scale academic ladder as they don’t have PhD.  In contrast, there are academicians who have PhD in their academic kitty but failed to acquire knowledge because of their high egos and, finally failed to excel as successful academicians.

There are several knowledge workers who excel rapidly in the corporate world as they have thirst for knowledge.  Although it is their basic qualifications that bagged them employment they realized that it is the acquisition of knowledge that plays a crucial role rather than acquisition of paper qualifications.

Remember to note that it is always the knowledge that stands out, not qualifications as there is a limit to qualifications but there is no such limit to knowledge as knowledge is infinite.

“Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.” – Confucius

“Amir Khan's Satyamev Jayate” - Professor M.S.Rao

Amir Khan did it again!  Amir’s much awaited TV debut “Satyamev Jayate” received grand opening that highlights on social and real life issues which are often neglected by many people including media. He is receiving acclaims not only from Bollywood but also across India.   It awakes and moves the people touching the realities of life.

“Satyamev Jayate” (English Translation: Truth Alone Triumphs) is an Indian television program that is being aired in various channels within the Star Network along with Doordarshan.  It is for the first time Amir Khan made his debut in small screen. It shows the significance of small screen as people can see the program by sitting in front of televisions at home.  Amir knows the knack of reaching out to audience through his innovative ways. His timing of airing the program is also significant. The success of show shows the triumph of television over cinema.

Kiran Bedi described the show as "creative, evidence based, emotionally connecting and inspiring and it is an expression of the power of media and the inherent potential of society in resolving its own problems."  And noted TV producer, and director Siddhartha Basu compared the show with The Oprah Winfrey Show and commented, "I think Aamir makes for a pensive and studied Oprah. More power to him and even more power to issues he raises that affect us all. Hopefully, it will get people thinking and acting on it on a much bigger scale."

The first show ran for one and half hour highlighting female foeticide in India with three real case studies. The revelations are shocking!  He must focus on various issues plaguing Indian society such as poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, corruption, dowry deaths, and child abuse to name a few.

Amir is noted for hitting headlines for right reasons rather than for wrong reasons unlike other Bollywood film stars.  He is a unique film star who is very choosy in picking up his roles and responsibilities and knows how to stand out from others. He does a lot of research before entering into anything and does a lot of home work, leg work and hard work to make it a grand success.  He goes by the road less travelled. He believes in perfection, and he hardly compromises with quality and performance.  Whenever Amir does something everybody sits up and take a notice.  That’s Amir Khan!   In fact, Amir wants to make a difference in the lives of Indians.

Commenting on the program, Aamir humbly said, "I am no one to bring change or solve anything neither can the government. One person cannot improve this or bring solution. I can only keep the issue in front of everyone. The only solution is each and everyone should say I will not do that."

Watch and enjoy the program!
